one of the best truecrime pods
this dude is respectful & the content is well researched.

Great!
I really enjoy all your episodes. Even if I know the case, you seem to tell their stories much better. Keep up the great work!

One of my favorite pod
I am so happy to find this podcast. One of my favorites.

The podcast that turned me into a true crime junkie.
I don’t know what’s happened this year, but still have you 5 stars because you were my first, lol. Have hopes that the stories will keep coming, just really enjoy Justin’s narration.

Conan Wayne Hale
Would you consider doing a case on this?

Binge This
It will not disappoint.

Easily 5-stars! ONE OF MY FAVS!
I’m not sure why this podcast only has 4-stars. It’s very good, and well produced. The narrator doesn’t go on these long tangents about their own beliefs or opinions. He tells the story, and yes.. there are some opinions in the mix, but nothing too radical, or crazy. Seriously such a great podcast!! Great voice!

Great podcast
This podcast is one of my favorites! Keep up the great content!

I love this podcast
It’s so good. Also, an interview with the host led me to YKS which is amazing, as well. Thank you

Great podcast!!!
I’m very picky with my podcast - especially ones with only 1 narrator...but I’m totally hooked on this one!!! He goes into a bunch of detail and it can get very grotesque (which I appreciate - but others may not). Reminds me of Sword and Scale but without the gross victim blaming! Keep up the good work❤️

New favorite pod!
Although shocking and sometimes horrifying, Justin delivers his stories in such interesting detail that I can’t turn it off. The Obscura team is amazing and leaves nothing left out which makes it all the better. Even if I have heard a case told before, Obscura always tells it better and I hear new details I hadn’t heard before. Although I must say it’s not for everyone. Keep it up!

Perfect for those with strong stomachs
This podcast is great but I wouldn’t recommend it for the first time true crime podcast listener. Probably should ease into this this one after listening to some of the more “milder” ones and stay away from the Black Label ones until you’re ready to be heart broken by the horrors that humans can inflict onto each other and the world in detail. I can’t listen to some of the Black Label episodes (I only got through 15 min of Crush even though I barely got through Bakky) but it’s available for those who are interested. I appreciated the episode where you discuss Stephen King. You described what it felt reading his novels in my youth perfectly. Thanks for putting out content that others won’t.

Are these people inbreeding?!
They must be, ‘cuz I have never heard so much 🤬-backwards stupidity in one sitting as I did in season 2 episode 24. And this was only the first part of the story. I kept thinking that this can NOT be the truth, it doesn’t make sense that this situation could go on this long and these people can’t put 2 and 2 together. All that aside, I have been enjoying the podcast. Albeit there was one black label episode that I wish I had heeded the warning on by skipping it. It truly was horrific.

My favorite true crime podcast.
I love this podcast! Great research and ability to tell a great story and also put the truth and facts first! Awesome!

Excellent
Never lay off Governor Whitmer, but at the same time, you don't appear to know much about public policy/health/politics, let us all know/listeners know if I’m wrong, thanks

Love it
So glad I found this podcast . Really great job Justin !

Very Good
Justin does a great job at detailing things. I like how it starts with the campfire sound in the background. And he doesn’t tough subjects but he’s done a great job overall through all the shows I’ve listen to on this podcast. And he has a very calm steady Voice thank you Justin

my favorite true crime podcast
Justin is an amazing host and this podcast is just so well-made. I appreciate how Justin covers these cases, especially the ones that involve children. He’s a great storyteller, his voice is soothing, he’s respectful of the victims. If you like the format of a certain popular podcast that also features a straight forward narrative style and audio clips, but you can’t stand what a tool that narrator is, check this out. This is so much better.

This pod is worth your money
Justin is the real deal. Great podcast. Support obscura for more original content.

I am such a fan
This is one of the first true crime podcasts I ever listened to and I appreciate all the work and time that obviously goes into this show. Justin is a great narrator and I love how they never gloss over the details.

Why no synopsis?!
I really like this podcast (5 stars for content), but there are many similar out there. Sooo......It is super frustrating when there is no summary of the episode’s content with apple. I listen to podcasts during limited (precious) periods of time as my schedule allows. I am not going to take my chances on a podcast where I do not know the subject matter up-front. 5 stars for content, zero stars for ability to summarize for podcast viewers.

Not for the faint of heart. Gritty and morbid.
I have listened to a large number of true crime podcasts and listened to books on almost every serial killer in recent history. This podcast adds a certain element to the things I thought I already knew. The narrator does a great job of explaining the scenarios and mixing in real audio from different cases as it applies.. I like the mixture of narration and audio ( ie. news stories, court testimonies, Interrogation videos..) if you don’t have a weak stomach, dive in. I can’t thank you enough for the great content and hope you continue to share the gruesome details of real life monsters and the horror they inflict!

Yo
This is a WILD podcast. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Definitely NSFW. I uhhhh. Not one of my best ideas. I don’t get disturbed easily...I was disturbed quite often while listening.

Obsessed
How do I donate?? I love your shows. You do a great job

Would’ve given 5, but
....please left politics out of your already great show. I listen to podcasts to get away from all that garbage. Other than that, I love the show, GREAT JOB

Bravo!
Love love love. My first time listening was the episode about Broken Arrow, OK. I live 15 from Broken Arrow and have been obsessing over that case since it happened. The mood, the background noise, the voice. It is so good and spooky. 10/10.

Good podcast
Once you get used to Justin’s speech cadence this is a very good podcast. I like the way he leans into the stories he narrates. He demonstrates that narrating true crime is not just a job for him

Well done, but...
I like the overall quality and most of the cases are worth listening to BUT the voice is what has me turning it off. I can hear the guy’s normal voice during a commercial or two or I can at least hear he isn’t putting on the “story” voice quite as much. I’d really recommend just talking in your normal voice and stop trying for the deep because it’s not working well. Otherwise, keep at it and grow. Cheers.

Riveting
I found this podcast just a week ago, I’ve binged all seasons! I love that this podcast is raw, honest and told with by a host who shoots straight from the hip. Love black label, please keep it coming. Great research and story telling. Bravo!

Awesome
First one I listened to was Bakky. Could not finish it. Hooked. Enjoying.
